Project Chikoro

Project Chikoro (chikoro = school in Shona) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of school children and their families in Zimbabwe. This project was inspired by a recent trip I took to Zimbabwe involving black rhino conservation work. During my stay I became involved with the children and teachers at Numwa Primary and Secondary School in Marondera, Zimbabwe. Being a school teacher in the United States, I was heartbroken and disturbed by the lack of supplies and inadequate facilities in Zimbabwe's schools. My goal with Project Chikoro is to raise funds and collect basic school supplies, clothing and personal items to be shipped and/or personally delivered to Numwa School. My hope is that in the future Project Chikoro can help schools throughout Zimbabwe.
